Does God Reject Anyone?
by John Miller

They call it universalism, the belief that all will finally be saved, that no one will perish because of sin. In other words, there is no need to have the fear of Hell. So, Will it all come out OK for all men no matter how they lived there lives, because God will not--does not reject anyone.

The problem is not God’s rejection of man--it is man’s rejection of God. God’s love is universal and inclusive, but, God will not force His love on man. He sent His son Jesus Christ to come into the world for the sake of men, [John 3:16] but God will not coerce faith in His Son.

The objection that a universalist has against sinful mans eventual judgment and condemnation is this; if a man  never heard of God and the plan of salvation why should he be condemned? All men, they say, will have that opportunity, and when they do, there would be few, if any, that would reject that plan and so would be saved.

God does make His presence known to ever man. Romans 3:20, tells us, “ For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities --His power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”

 In a persons heart there lies the questions about himself, his purpose in life, and how he came to be. It is a thing I believe that God puts there in every one of us. At one time or another each of us seek to find those answers. It is at this time we are confronted by God with illumination. God gives us a certain amount of spiritual insight to be able to take the step

There are different forms of universalism but all have one thing in common, the thinking that all will “make it” into heaven. That God would never condemn anyone, that His love is better than that.

We must understand that while God is the God of Grace, mercy, and love he is also the God of wrath. To ignore that fact is paramount to making up a God of our own choosing.  The God of love alone is not taught in the Bible. The Bible warns that those that reject Gods calling will receive His wrath.  These things are not easy for me to teach. I would rather say, “Yes God is the God of only Love and all will be saved regardless.” But If I said that I would be not telling the truth.

Just Listen what Romans 2:5-8 tells us, “ But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of Gods wrath, when His righteous judgment will be revealed.”  If we receive God’s wrath it is not because God is an unloving God but a just God.

The sad fact is that today the Gospel message has been perverted. Preachers preaching a false message that is totally devoid of what the true Gospel message is all about. To preach Gods wrath is thought of today as uncaring and hurtful to others. It is not hurtful or uncaring at all, in fact it is being just that, thoughtful and caring.  I want people to know what’s in store for them if they do not turn to Christ.

In the book of Jonah, God commanded Jonah to Go and take a message to the people of Nineveh. What did Jonah tell the people?
Did he say, People of Nineveh, God loves you, you are doing things that God hates but that’s ok God loves you? No, Jonah told the people in verse 4, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overturned.”  When the King of Nineveh heard the message, he commanded every one to repent of their sins and said in verse 9, “Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from His fierce anger so that we will not perish.”  What happened because of this repentance?  Verse 10 tells us, “When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, He had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened.”   It is the warning of Gods wrath that will bring some to their knees in repentance. It is God’s love then that will show them mercy. The people of Sodom  were warned of their evilness and they did not repent. What happened to them? They all received the wrath of God. As I said earlier, “It is men that reject God.”

The Gospel message is, repent from your sins and receive Christ as your savior. When you do that you become a child of God and someday will receive eternal life with God. To not repent is to reject Christ and to some day receive Gods wrath and live forever in hell totally separated from God.  This is what the complete gospel is all about. Listen to what Jesus told His disciples to preach,. Mark 16:15-16, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”  Jesus says we are to warn the unbeliever of the consequence of not believing.

Many church members have left churches because they did not want to hear the complete message.  Ministers very slowly began to preach what others wanted to hear.  The truth is not a message that the sinner wants to hear. Why, because he does not want to give up his sinning. He would rather hear, “God loves you no matter what,” without hearing anything about God’s wrath. Why, because when he hears about God’s wrath he realizes he will be held accountable for his actions someday.

If we truly love others we will want to warn them about the consequences of failing to repent. Tell them what John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”  But also tell them what the words “shall not perish” mean. That if they choose darkness rather than light [vs.19] that they are already separated from God and condemned already [vs.18]. The Gospel message has the good news to those that do not reject it and bad news for those that do.  The good news is that Jesus Christ came into the world to save those that believe in Him. Mark 16:15-16, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believe and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

God does not reject anyone. It is there unbelief that has separated them from God.  It is their choose to continue on in life living in sin, rejecting the light, Jesus Christ for the darkness Satan.  God has commanded us to preach the whole gospel, that Jesus Christ came into the world to save those that will believe and those that do not believe are condemned and will spend an eternity in Hell. It is not a popular message but it is the message that we must give to a sin sick world.

Perhaps you who are reading this article are an unbeliever. You can change that today. Simply bow your head and say these few simple words of prayer to God;

Oh God, I am a sinner and have been heading in the wrong direction all my life. I am a sinner and want to accept your Son Jesus Christ as my personal savior. I want to not continue in the way I am living. I want to begin living for Jesus. I believe that died on the cross for my sins, that he rose from the dead and is seated at the right hand of the Father. Please forgive me of my sins. I ask this Jesus name Amen.
If you have said this prayer please get a hold of me John Miller, at pastor@believe-in-jesus.zzn.com and let me know that you have accepted Christ as your savior.
